My Top 5 Pink Lipsticks

I’ll be the first to admit that my obsession with pink lipsticks has only happened very recently. They’ve always been a bit intimidating for fear of ending up with bright, Barbie pink lips (my love of anything Barbie ended age 8). Anyone who knows me will vouch that I am a huge fan of Charlotte Tilbury, and surprise surprise, it was one of her lipsticks that sparked my interest. Since that fateful day my student loan has taken a small hit, but I’m here to give you the low down on why it was so worth it.

THE LEAST PINK, PINKNo7 Match Made Moisture Drench Lipstick in Ginger Rose – £9.95 –
For anyone who’s still a little bit intimidated by the whole pink thing, this lipstick will ease you in gently. This No7 lipstick is a gorgeous browny pink, it’s like a slightly updated 90’s brown. It’s seriously pigmented but as the name suggests, still super hydrating. It’s so comfortable to wear, and looks so good with a bit of a smokey eye going on for the evening.

THE LUXURY PINKChanel Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Flirt – £25 –
Oh my, this lipstick. The scent, the smoothness, the sexiness. This lipstick is a step above the rest (I mean, it is Chanel), but seriously. The colour is more of a peachy/coral pink than the rest, lightweight, with a tiny bit of shimmer, but don’t let this put you off. It’s so subtle, and makes your lips look ultra luscious and plumped up. It lifts my complexion and makes it look so much better than it actually is (cry). This lipstick is a bit of an investment, but it’ll be staying in my makeup bag for a long time to come.

THE CREAMY PINKSephora Collection Rouge Shine Lipstick in No. 07 Matchmaker – $12.50/€10.95 –
Still dealing with the trauma after discovering that this one has been discontinued, but the range is dreamy nonetheless. This lipstick is oh so creamy and soft, it’s almost like a lip butter but more pigmented. Even if you get super chapped lips (the struggles this time of year), it doesn’t cling to dry skin, which is a miracle. The colour is a beautiful, true medium pink and is one of my most worn – you can see from the photos that there’s only a tiny stub left!

THE PALE PINK Kiko Unlimited Stlyo Long-Lasting Lipstick in 01 Pearly Rose Coral – £6.90 –
Kiko have done themselves proud again. If you like shimmery lipsticks with a good amount of pigmentation then this is your winner. It’s not as creamy as some of the others but it my goodness it lasts. I’m awful at remembering to re-apply my lipstick, but with this one you can just whack it on and you’re good to go pretty much all day. It’s a perfect day time colour, I’ll be wearing this to death come spring/summer time.

THE MATTE PINKCharlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Between The Sheets – £23 –
The one that made me fall in love with pinks. I cannot emphasise how much I adore this lipstick (and the rest of Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution Lipsticks). It’s perfectly matte and long lasting, but doesn’t dry your lips out like a lot of other matte lipsticks I’ve tried. It has the most amazing airbrush/soft focus effect, and manages to make your lips look instantly fuller. Even though this lipstick isn’t available anymore as it was limited edition, I would highly recommend looking at the other Matte Revolution lipsticks in the CT range. I own a fair few of them!
